You know, there is a silver lining to Rob Ford hanging around, although it's sad that he hasn't resigned.

The thing is, if you listen to what he's saying, and he's in the news regularly saying outrageous things, trying to pass them off as if they're legitimate points, without recognizing his/their rather flagrant shortcomings, you can't help but think, if you're on the Left in Canadian politics, that the longer this yahoo remains in the public eye, the more and more ridiculous the Canadian Right appears.

He's like the excessive unleashed wanton byproduct of the Federal conservative party's tendency to operate incognito.

If he's still around during the next Federal election, it could bode well for Left-Wing Canadian politics, featuring the NDP.

Although in the meantime, it's quite unsettling.
