While discussing a philosophical concept the other day, one which my interlocutor claimed no one really understands that well, I rashly blurted out that if you try to define something thousands of different ways, and still no one can understand what you mean, you've created a durable philosophical concept, or critically theoretical idea, which may provoke debate and encourage dispute for some time to come, amongst interested parties and keen students. 

I got a laugh anyways, and was happy to have provided some philosophical humour.

Otherwise known as inanity. 

Or something else.
