If you're wondering what poker used to be like before so many people started playing Texas Hold 'Em exclusively, look no further than Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Throughout the seasons, the crew gets together for intense poker games, and from time to time you see the dealer choose the game, which is how it used to be.

It was pretty cool.

Every time someone dealt you played a different game (High-Low Chicago, Five Card Stud, Follow the Queen, Texas Hold 'Em, etc.), and whenever you went out to play poker, you usually learned a new game or two.

Don't get me wrong, I love Texas Hold 'Em, but I did enjoy poker more when there was more variety.
