Listening to Herbie Hancock master different electronic devices on his albums from the '80s, made me think, wouldn't it be cool if there was a symphony of artists, each using a different electronic device from the last 50 years, while playing a simple melody like Vinteuil's Sonata, variations on a theme, sounds within sounds, exceptionality in unison, I think that'd be cool anyways. 😎

I think critics and fans misunderstood Herbie Hancock when he started to create new sounds in the 1980s. To me, he seems like an ingenious musician who spent his career trying to create new cutting edge music with whatever technology became available, not like someone who was exploiting electronics to make money.

I was always more interested in old rickety pianos myself, in old hotels, in old towns, in old forests.

Would have been cool to have been more experimental way back when though.

But I do still love those honky-tonk rhythms!

If you thought Miles Davis was cool in the 1980s, wait till you get to Herbie Hancock.

His sounds remind me so much of the television and film I grew up watching.

A lot of my favourite bands from the '60s and '70s didn't fare well in the techno80s, so I'm happy that I finally found some great artists who did.

Impressive.
