Sometimes I wonder whether or not I would have a partner if I was more of a jerk, for the other is attracted by the jerk because they seek to wear him or her down through the act of love, so they can then take control of the means of production after the jerk officially loves them, and make them pay for being a jerk, unless that jerk is truly feisty and continues not to care afterwards, thereby using his or her partner's love against them in some kind of romantically productive backfire (a family for instance). For the other's plan to take control in this instance, they must ensure that the jerk in question's behaviour eventually destroys their original love as he or she falls in love with them and stops being the jerk whom they once loved (for being a jerk).
