Tonight, I ran into someone with whom I'd had an extended introductory conversation a while back, and, in order to ensure their interest intensifies, decided that after making eye contact and exchanging friendly glances, I would look up a word in the dictionary. If there's one thing for certain, it's that this person's going to know that I'm serious about vocabulary acquisition, which, if I know anything about the other, is bound to provide me with at least one extended romantic incident, involving caffeine, and a whole grain bagel.
