Was Jason Maas paid-off to lose that game?

I know it sounds ludicrous, but that was the worst call I've ever seen in playoff football.

Could someone have slipped him a couple million to not go for it on third? 

I never thought I'd write, "the Seattle Seahawks are off the hook."

At least they were going for it.
