Philadelphia Eagles/New England Patriots: ah well. While the Patriots have overcome several teams who have yet to win their first Super Bowl, they've never faced one of those teams twice in February. And the Eagles proved they are as ferocious as they are crafty in their win versus Minnesota, meaning defeating them will be as painstaking as it is rewarding. Look at these regular season stats: both teams finished 1st in their respective conferences with 13 and 3 records; New England scored 458 points and let in 296; Philadelphia put up 457 while giving up a mere 295. That's insanely even. Nonetheless, the Patriots have the edge having been to the Super Bowl so many times in recent years, and the Eagles scored so many against the Vikings that you wonder if they have anything left to outmanoeuvre them? I want to see Philly win. It's baffling that they've never won while the Giants and Cowboys have so many times. But there's an unfortunate reality blocking their road to victory: oddly enough, the last time I watched the Super Bowl with Dad, the Steelers beat Arizona and won their 6th title. And this Sunday I will be watching with Dad once more. Thus, from my perspective, it seems that Philadelphia is doomed at 6:30 pm two days from now, and I can only reluctantly pick the Patriots, who will likely play dazzlingly well in the second half, freely scoring as if they're fiercely contesting their opposition's practice squad. Picking New England to win their 6th. Hoping the Eagles find a way to stop them.
