It seems that there aren't many Vulcans left for the new Star Trek films, yet pon farr is still destined to unhinge them.

Perhaps, due to the taut bonds of consciousness surreally engendered by their altered civilization, and the dire need to repopulate their ranks, pon farr will descend upon them en masse, and mates from other species will be untraditionally sought aloha.

In the Quentin Tarantino Star Trek extravaganza, perhaps to be known, as Star Trek: Pon Farr.
