That is precisely the kind of Broncos win I'm talking about! With a head coach as solid as Sean Payton, surrounding himself with other incredible coaches like Vance Joseph, the entire team plays well every Sunday, and Bo Nix can learn and grow as the defence keeps Denver competitive throughout the game.

Amazing win!

Go Broncos Go! 🏈

Hoping Mr. John Elway recovers from the coronavirus soon.

Distressing.

Hot Tub Time Machine

Was looking forward to taking a dip in Steve Pink's Hot Tub Time Machine but found it's waters far to tepid. It's fun watching three old friends reinvestigating their youth back in time at their favourite ski resort, but I never developed a bond with any of the characters, felt its crude emphasis was often nasty, couldn't get into most of the "reliving their youth with a 21st century twist" bits, and patiently waited for a montage that never came. At the same time, watching John Cusack (Adam) get ridiculously wasted on multiple substances while pining for a lost love was funny, the humour's dry yet over the top like a well mixed self-aware chocolate martini (so self-aware it's aware that being self-aware is becoming cliché unless you conceal your self-awareness), going back to the 80s for a romp including John Elway's famous Drive caught my attention, and it was nice to see Crispin Glover (Phil) heroically stealing scenes. My "make-it-or-break-it" Hot Tub Time Machine factors came down to Chevy Chase and the dynamics of time travel. I often like integral non-sequiturs and the ways in which they complicate things, but I couldn't help being annoyed by the repair man's babble and the fact that he didn't simply lay things out like Back to the Future's Doctor Emmett Brown. The answers were probably there, cleverly encoded with idioms and innuendo, but I found them as confusing as Adam's accidentally-along-for-the-ride-nephew, Jacob (Clark Duke), and potentially will never see their mysteries revealed (something deeper than the forbidden substance found in the Russian red bull). Unless in twenty years I travel back in time and have to see Hot Tub Time Machine again in order to maintain the integrity of the space/time continuum. If that happens, I'll search for the hidden meaning while making sure to hit the gym and eat solidified carbohydrates.

Elway

Growing up, I cheered John Elway and the Denver Broncos to three Super Bowls. I was quite young, and each year was forced to go to bed at half time, always praying that I would wake up to a Bronco's victory.

But it never happened. It never even came close to happening. The Broncos were destroyed each year, the final in their third appearance (during my lifetime) being 55 to 10. I remained a Broncos fan, and even though he could never inspire a comeback in the big game, Elway was considered one of the best post-season quarterbacks to ever command the AFC. My friends laughed at me during every subsequent season as I mentioned that this would be the year that the Broncos finally won, that this would be the season when they achieved the victory that had been scurrilously denied them in the past. You're an idiot; you're a loser, said they, laughing and pointing, onerous unfaithful laughter from people who understood neither the Denver Broncos nor the might resting within John Elway's unyielding creativity: my faith in Elway persevered. And eventually, thanks to an unheralded offensive line, a gifted running back, talented coach, stalwart tight end, ferocious defense, and three clutch wide receivers, Elway won the big game in a burst of athletic integrity, twice.

And it's that athletic integrity which I turn to now while approaching Gauze Industries. What would Elway do if it was the fourth quarter and his workload had the lead, there were only two and half minutes left on the clock, deadlines approaching, projections piling, competition grinding, markets crashing? Well let me tell you: he'd dig in those angelic heels and rush for 16 yards head-first big-time. He'd fake right, run left and hit his fullback with a surprise 12 yarder straight up the gut before pulling an audible and handing it off to his tight-end. Thanks to all his regular season research, he'd be right frick ready to drill those opponents into submission before stopping on the sideline to smoke a cigarette, wave to his fans, and think about grabbing an ice cold glass of pastis after the game, the benefits of preparation, the rewards of resilience. My company may experience significant setbacks and defeats, time and time again, look, there's another one, beyond that ridge, right there, staring, laughing, pointing, mocking, smiling, but fret not, for thou dost have the courage and resolution to keep the goal in sight at each and every moment of every single day, always there, motivating, driving, demanding, inspiring, complicating, simplifying, delineating, deconstructing for a lifetime.

From "Dealing with K_____"

My hands were full, fuller, so the door was opened, no, not opened, opened, I was carrying a box of coffee, not coffee, no, pizza was later, at that point I had coffee, coffee, understand, okay, there's a virus lying in section d of file c kept within drive x of K_____'s laptop that will be launched if Anderson opens her c drive to assist with payroll which she must do. It can be stopped if Synge and Sean begain a game of Iron Will after six and Synge uses his mace to defeat Sean in the boulevard on Sentiment Island; but Synge and Sean can't know that this is the only way to stop K______'s virus from infecting our pay because of the Stilton Probe K______ placed in their office in order to line up his thoughts with theirs so that he can navigate the underground more efficiently, meaning they can't know about it.

Most seriously unfortunate news noble herald.

I know; I know.

Okay this is what we have to do, this is the only way that K_____'s malevolence can be thwarted and we must thwart that malevolence indeed if we are to once again dine upon crisp fragments of marsh mellow. Judy, take the vette to San Paradina and order 6 fresh kiwis at Mongo's, he's got the juiciest. Lucy, set a trail by the water cooler using the jet laser in order to cast a peachy red glow throughout the kitchen. Like her shirt, yes. I don't know, they like peachy red things. No you can't use the bathroom. Yes, Jefferson City, correct, Andorra not San Marino, John Elway, legendary, true all true, but we need to place 4 kiwis in the fridge and take the juice from the other two and insert it in a hard-boiled egg. When they enter the room, Jenkins, you'll be watching, show Charles the seventh digit of π and he will then dim the lights, it's the current trend. With the lights dimmed, they'll be reminded that the blazing sun, in all it's glory, foe of Phaeton, harvester of heroes, moor of might, doctor of detente, is setting, thereby indicating that although they set their own hours, it is now after six, meaning a break is at hand, at which point Sean will inevitably open the fridge, spotting the kiwis, while at the same time, being a hard-boiled egg that's never been cracked, and possessing superior olfactory senses, Synge will sense the hard-boiled egg kiwi concoction, after which, a duel will be the only way to quench their unreasonable desire - there can be only one possessor of the kiwi juice infused hard-boiled egg, and only one - hence, they're favourite form of duel settling being a game of Iron Will (as demonstrated by their last 7 duels), they'll head straight for their office upon embracing the challenge. The problem is that Sean generally defeats Synge and Synge usually uses his saber while battling in boulevards. Hence, we need Ursa to empty her mind so that the Stilton Probe can't hear her. Then, she must set up a Shropshire's Discus beneath the waste paper basket located on the left beside the door which will be used to coyly reverse subsection B paragraph 1(a) of the Probe's beam which will then be used to transmit the messages: boulevard battle level 9, buffalo the saber, if Synge wins the sky will be filled with droplets of orange pekoe and as they fall to the earth we will receive the sustenance required to energetically invigorate Newberry. This will undoubtably work if we work together as a team.

This plan will never experience failure.

You hath cast for K_____ a defeat most clever and cunning.

It's what I do.
