Baseball Game

I once sat on second base. There was a batter up to bat. I wanted to ensure that if that batter grounded to the infield I could make it to third while he found safe passage to first base. When the ball was hit towards the second baseperson, I decided to jump a little off the bag, hoping to tempt him into trying to throw me out at third, or at least stall him for the split-second required for the batter to reach first. If he threw to third plan B saw me safely return to second. He simply ran me down as soon as I paused.
