I would like to go to a café
or a mall or the cinema
or Toronto or the Oratoire
Saint-Joseph du Mont Royal
or cruise down Lake Rousseau
or wander the Thelon or track a
wolverine or cure a moose or
interpret an impression or shoot
a basketball or run on a treadmill
or sing a ballad or jump out of
a plane or drink a Manhattan while
playing blackjack or listen to a
hummingbird or catch a pop fly
or watch a lynx run next to my car
or work on my prepositions or
drive a bus somewhere or stare at
the Richardson Mountains or read
20 pages from the Sound and the Fury
or troll for pike in my kayak but all
I can do is sit here writing this.
