I highly recommend getting vaccinated.

I can't wait til I'm vaccinated and I can walk around again, free from worry.

Vaccinations!

I'm surprised more people aren't wearing spacesuits.

Wearing spacesuits: no COVID-19.

It seems like the best thing to do is to wait until January to head back to school. It's too bad creative solutions to the current economic crisis can't be found to make that a reality (wasn't CERB just extended again?). The local numbers aren't as worrisome as realities being experienced in other parts of the world. Perhaps hardly anything will go wrong.

Imagine making billions of a vaccine that doesn't even work.

With mask wearing bizarrely and comfortably en vogue, perhaps it's time for people to start wearing elaborate full-on masquerade style masks as they travel about town?

I'm totally serious.

That would be amazing.

Or just wear masks depicting their favourite fictional or even non-fictional characters?

*With a medically sound mask underneath of course.

I'm wearing a mask wherever I go indoors these days.

I'm free to make that decision.

And I choose to wear a mask.

Responsibly.

Due to the astronomical rise of coronavirus cases in the U.S,  I see no problem with extending the border closure to a much later date.

I think Justin Trudeau's doing a good job during this here coronavirus crisis.

But he's no Jacinda Ardern.

Pets would look adorable in their little COVID-19 masks though, more so in an anthropomorphic animated series called something like "Petland", wherein pets complain about the inconveniences, and poor American leadership, experienced during the pandemic. That's Netflix gold!

Sunday, July 5, 2020

I'm surprised I haven't heard of anyone trying to sell masks for pets (scandalously) in the age of COVID-19?

COVID doesn't show up as a spelling mistake in Facebook and iMessenger if you only spell it with capitals.

The same can be said for ROVID however.

Noticed that I left the Christmas cards I received last December up the other day.

And I'm leaving them up.

To fight the coronavirus through the power of Christmas.

Closely allied with medical science.

Hope COVID-19 doesn’t ruin Autumn fashion.

I think it's possible that a lot of doomsday scenarios are popping up on YouTube which should be thoroughly critiqued, as mentioned yesterday, but hospitals really are managing tragic situations.

Remember, hospital staff were overworked and underpaid before the pandemic, and now they're the ones who have to save thousands of people with a contagious viral infection, on top of their regular workload.

Please maintain the quarantine for however long it takes.

By staying home, you're saving lives.

And making sure the pandemic ends sooner than later.

When you do have to go out for groceries, however, I think the greenest of lights should be given to every comfort food imaginable (and available).

Without hoarding.

Now is not the time to say, "I'll get chocolate or ice cream next week!"

Splurge the urge.

Now is the time for every single delicious food item you can think of, and I highly recommend treating yourself.

With all this time at home, why not?

Remember, hoarding is crappy.

*I don't mean go to the grocery store more often than usual to buy treats, I just mean buy the treats that strike you when you do have to go out to the grocery store.

**Or have your groceries delivered with extra treats (if that options available).

I know it's tough spending so much time indoors, but the COVID-19 situation in Italy is grim. A lot of people are dying there and staying indoors can stop the virus from similarly spreading in Canada and Québec. The virus doesn't seem to be spreading much in China anymore, so it looks like strict quarantine measures work, and should work in Canada too. I highly recommend staying indoors most of the time for the next 3 or 4 weeks or so, perhaps more than that, to stop COVID-19 from spreading, so that things return to normal sooner than later. I know it's tough, but a situation where hundreds of people die every day is much much worse.

It's great to hear about how much the Canadian and Québecois Federal Government is spending on relief efforts to help working families during these difficult times.  I hope the benefits and relief measures being introduced are easy to access and readily available, especially for people who aren't computer-savvy. Hopefully local networks step up to help friends and family who aren't computer-savvy access these relief measures. Could only take an hour of your time. Would be awesome if no one fell through the cracks!

I'm hoping that when things return to normal (I'm in favour of waiting as long as it takes to make sure the situation in Canada and Québec doesn't get worse) the NHL and NBA playoffs aren't cancelled. Even if they start in June, it would be cool to see another round of NHL and NBA playoff action based on current rankings.

I don't think a film's going to come out anytime soon about pandemics or COVID-19, so I should mention that as cases expand around the globe I'm becoming increasingly worried. There aren't that many cases in Canada but Italy didn't have that many cases until recently either, and now it's on full-on lockdown. I think it's best to listen to what the experts are saying (like wash your hands regularly, stay home if you feel sick etc.), and hope it fades as the Spring progresses (and doesn't start spreading throughout the southern hemisphere). Probably not a good time to travel internationally either unless you need to. Hoping things don't get worse. Hoping COVID-19 leads to a significant decrease in the consumption of wild animals worldwide too. Maybe it's a good time to let all the wild animals slated to be consumed by humans go, let them loose back into the wild. If things do get worse and more time has to be spent at home, it could be a good time to finish all those projects you've been meaning to take care of for some time, but haven't gotten around to for one reason or another. If work comes to a general stop perhaps bills should be forgiven during that time period, and workers working in essential services should be paid at a much higher rate than their regular wages. But it really hasn't come to that yet, and there still aren't that many cases in Canada. Hopefully it stays that way. Prudence and caution, exercise prudence and caution.  A good book. Board game action.
