Don't know which genius I prefer, the one who generally follows or revolts against the rules. I suppose a lot of geniuses choose rules to follow and others to revolt against, working their choices into a cohesive, coherent frame, which they then use to justify, manage, and coordinate their positions, the contradictions with which are not readily apparent. So perhaps my favourite geniuses are the ones who will listen to no one (revolting against the rules) while ensuring that no one will listen to them (that no one will follow their rules), in the pursuit of a ridiculously sublime aesthetic which is pruned each and every time it blossoms.
